What Are Nic Salt Shots?

What Are Nic Salt Shots?

Nic Salt shots are 10ml bottles of a form of nicotine solution that is added to a nicotine-free short-fill bottle of vape juice to give the user their desired nicotine strength. Nic salt shots are the same as regular nic shots other than the additional Benzoic acid or Citric acid added to achieve a smooth and enjoyable vaping experience for higher nicotine strengths.

Nicotine salt shots contain Benzoic acid or Citric acid, both generally classed as safe for human consumption and are used in several popular products in the food and cosmetics industry. The additional benzoic acid or citric acid in nic salt shots means that these nic shots will have a lower pH balance than freebase nicotine which doesn't include benzoic aid or citric acid. Due to nic salt shots having lower alkalinity than normal nic shots, so you can vape higher nicotine strengths without the harsh throat hit that is found in high nicotine-free base e-liquids.

Nic Salt shots are absorbed into the bloodstream at a much quicker rate, meaning that the user will experience a very satisfying sensation when inhaling, almost very similar to that of a traditional cigarette, so nic salt shots are ideal for someone who is still a tobacco smoker but would like to break away from conventional cigarettes gradually.

Are Salt Nic Shots Better?

Nic Salt shots are ideally better for someone who was or still, is a heavy smoker of cigarettes as they are available in higher nicotine strengths such as 10mg and 20mg, as adding normal nicotine shot to a short-fill bottle of vape juice would only result in strengths such as 3mg and 6mg.

The difference between normal nicotine shots and salt nic shots is that salt nic shots have additional substances added to them, such as benzoic acids and citric acids, to be able to achieve higher nicotine strengths; this is due to nic salt shots having much lower alkalinity. Nic salts are only found in strengths of 10mg and 20mg, and a small handful of brands have now started to manufacture strengths of 5mg as normal nicotine shots. On the other hand, when added to juice with 0mg of nicotine, they can make a liquid's nicotine strength such as 3mg, 6mg, 12mg, and 18mg, but it may be challenging to achieve the higher strengths in short-fill bottles.

If you are already using normal nicotine shots or low nicotine strengths such as 3mg, 6mg, and 12mg, then it would not be recommended to switch over to salt nic shots unless you are desperately in need of a higher nicotine fix that is not being provided from juices containing normal nicotine shots as switching from normal nic shot to nic salt shots will raise your nicotine tolerance and will technically fuel the nicotine addiction making the user crave more nicotine than before.
