Can You Clean And Reuse Vape Coils?

Can You Clean And Reuse Vape Coils?

Can You Clean And Reuse Vape Coils?

Yes, you can clean and reuse vape coils, but this, unfortunately, will not give you that fresh coil vape experience. The average lifespan of a vape coil is between 7-21 days, depending on what coil you are using.

Regular vape coils, which usually contain cotton, last roughly 14-21 days, but this can vary depending on the resistance of your coil and how well you look after the coil. Sub-ohm coils will last between 10-20 days depending on your wattage level, coil resistance, and the thickness of your e-liquid (VG/PG ratio).

Most coils will give you a recommended wattage level to be fired at. Vape coils can be cleaned slightly by using hot water, cleaning solutions and even ultrasonic cleaning devices, but these will never completely revive the coil as they will only clean off the burnt residue. If your coil is not burnt and isn't performing as it usually does, then cleaning it could be what you need.

Can You Wash Vape Coils?

Yes, you can wash a vape coil, but this will not ever revive the coil back to its original state. You can slightly clean a coil using warm water, cleaning solutions and ultrasonic cleaning devices, but this is not recommended. This will only remove the burnt residue from your coil, making it look clean and almost brand new again.

If you build your own coils or purchase pre-made coils for a dripper tank, then there are ways of washing your coils, but this will not revive your coil back to its original state. Boiling them in boiling water for 2 minutes and leaving them to dry for 24 hours will help clean the coil as well as brushing off any burnt residue from the coil.

Does Boiling Vape Coils Work?

Yes, boiling a vape coil works, but this is only a temporary fix.

Vape coils are relatively cheap, so they are often thrown out and replaced, but they can be washed for a temporary fix if they're not burnt. You will notice a lack of vapour, your e-liquid going darker, and even a loss of flavour, and these are indications that your coils need cleaning or replacing.

If your coil tastes burnt, boiling in hot water will more than likely be a waste of time, and you would be better off replacing the coil. To clean the coil, you'll need to boil water in a pot and then submerge your coil. You can also add baking soda to help the cleaning process, do this for 2 minutes and then carefully place them in cold water for another 2 minutes and leave to dry for at least 24 hours, ensuring that there is no excess liquid.

Another way of cleaning coils is to drop a few drops of regular alcohol into the coil, rinse it out and then make sure that you dry and shake off any excess liquid and blow out any liquid remaining.
