What Is An E Juice?

E-Juice is the liquid solution that is made for the intended use inside of a vaping device. It is commonly known as E-Juice, Vape Juice, E-liquid and Vape Liquid. These liquids are made up of several different substances that are precisely mixed to create the perfect blend of thickness, flavour and nicotine.

E Juice is a liquid solution made up of several substances: Propylene Glycol (PG), Vegetable Glycerin (VG), Nicotine, and flavour concentrates. In some vape juice products, such as nicotine salts, you will also find benzoic acid or citric acid. These are carefully and precisely mixed to make the perfect blend depending on what the user would like to achieve from the E-Juice, whether a strong nicotine hit on their throat or a large cloud production with intense flavour.

What Is An E-Liquid?

E-Liquid is a liquid solution intended for use inside vaping devices such as electronic cigarettes. Also known as E Juice, Vape Juice and Vape Liquid, these are all the same thing and will only be differentiated by the mix of VG, PG, nicotine and flavourings inside.

E-Liquid can be found in multiple variations, from free base e liquids to nicotine salt e liquids and higher PG and higher VG liquids. The difference between freebase liquids and nicotine salts is that nicotine salts have the addition of benzoic acid or citric acid in the juice itself. Higher PG liquids are suited more for people looking to get a satisfying nicotine hit when inhaling and low vapour production. Higher VG liquids are more suited for someone trying to produce large clouds of vapour whilst still experiencing an intense flavour.

What Does PG And VG Mean?

PG, which stands for Propylene Glycol and VG, which stands for Vegetable Glycerin, are the two main base ingredients used to manufacture vape juices.

Propylene Glycol (PG).

Propylene Glycol (PG) is a preservative substance commonly found in many food products. It can also be found in some pharmaceutical products, such as inhalers used to treat asthma. PG has a naturally sweet taste that is very subtle and is an odourless and colourless substance. PG has a much thinner viscosity than VG, making it a much better carrier of both nicotine and flavourings. This is why this is commonly used when manufacturing vape juices.

Vegetable Glycerin (VG).

Vegetable Glycerin (VG) is another substance commonly used in many food products. It is regularly used as a thickener and a sweetener thanks to its thick viscosity and naturally sweet flavour. As well as being used as a sweetener in the production of vape juices, VG is one of the main base liquids that make up most vape juices. VG has a thick viscosity compared to PG, which, when vaporised, creates a much larger and more dense vapour cloud.
