What Ingredients Are In Vape Juice?
The four main base ingredients that make up vape juice is Nicotine, Flavourings, Vegetable Glycerol and Propylene Glycol. Instead of using traditional tobacco found in smoking regular cigarettes, E-cigarettes use a liquid nicotine solution that is called vape juice or e-liquid.
Research indicates that eliquid does not contain any carcinogens such as tar and carbon monoxide as in traditional cigarettes, making them a much less harmful alternative to tobacco smoking. The NHS has stated that vaping is a 95% less harmful alternative.
Nicotine.
Nicotine is an addictive substance found in e-cigarettes and traditional cigarettes. Although nicotine is very similar to caffeine in that the chemical isn't harmful by nature, it is still an addictive substance.
When nicotine is inhaled, it will begin to stimulate the central nervous system and will start to raise blood pressure, heart rate and respiration; this will cause your dopamine levels to increase and give you a satisfying sensation.
It is highly recommended that you only choose a vape juice that contains nicotine if you are already a traditional smoker and are looking for an aid to assist you in quitting smoking.
Nicotine levels found in vape juice can range from none at all, all the way up to 50mg but please be aware that any juice or device containing more nicotine than 20mg is illegal for sale in the UK due to TPD regulations.
Flavourings.
As the vaping market continues to grow, so does the variety of flavours that are on offer. There are infinite flavour combinations in vape juice, such as Apple Peach, Watermelon Ice, Strawberry Ice Cream and Vanilla Tobacco; just to name a few, it would be almost impossible to list all of the flavours.
Vegetable Glycerine (VG).
Vegetable glycerine, also known as VG, is a colourless and odourless liquid that has a slightly sweet taste.
VG or Vegetable glycerine is a widely used substance that can be found in foods, over-the-counter medicines and prescription drugs. VG is a derivative of vegetable oil. This substance is used to thicken the consistency of the vape juice and is considered safe for human ingestion.
Propylene Glycol (PG).
Propylene glycol is a lab-made substance that is commonly found in food, drugs and cosmetics,
PG or propylene glycol is an odourless and colourless liquid that has a thin consistency. The PG is added into liquids to try and replicate that 'throat hit' sensation that is found when smoking traditional cigarettes, which users enjoy as they get the satisfaction they desire without the harmful side effects of smoking tobacco. PG is commonly used in food products, cosmetics and pharmaceutical products.
What Is The Safest Vape Juice?
It is impossible to answer which vape juice is the safest to use, but it is recommended that you avoid using any non-regulated vape juices as they will not be available for purchase as these non-regulated juices may contain illegal substances.
It is highly recommended that you only look to purchase regulated vape juices as these liquids have been tried and tested, are considered safe for public sale in the UK, and will not contain any illegal substances.
