Are All Vape Batteries The Same?
When it comes to vape batteries, there is no one-size-fits-all solution as all vape batteries are not the same. The type of battery you need will depend on the type of device you are using, as well as your personal preferences. For example, if you are using a mod vaping device, then you will need a battery with a higher voltage range in order to get the most power out of your device. On the other hand, if you are using a smaller device, then you can get away with a battery that has a lower voltage range.
There are also many different sizes of vape batteries available, so you can choose the one that best fits your device. 18650 batteries are the most commonly used in larger mod vaping devices, but there are also many other sizes available, such as 18350, 22650 and 21700 batteries.
Most devices (including disposable and pod system devices) come with internally built batteries, making your life easier as you don't have to adjust the wattage or voltage depending on the coil you use.
Built-in batteries
Many devices, including the more popular disposable devices, have a built-in battery. You don't need to worry about charging it or selecting the correct wattage for your coil. Vape until the battery is depleted and disposed of correctly rather than just throwing it away with your general waste.
Rechargeable built-in devices
All pod devices have built-in rechargeable batteries. These usually range between 500 - 650mah, which should be sufficient to last a vaper all day, depending on the frequency of the vaping. These batteries tend to be charged with either a micro USB or a USB C charger.
When Should I Replace Vape Battery?
There is no ideal time to replace the external battery in your vape device. Depending on your usage, this may be a few months or a year. Looking after your battery correctly will certainly increase its lifespan.
Built-in batteries
You should not change the battery in a closed pod system or disposable device in any circumstance. When the battery has been depleted, open the device, disassemble it, and dispose of it correctly in a battery recycling bank, usually found in your local supermarket.
External batteries
You will know when to change the battery in your mod box as it will not last very long when vaping, especially when compared to a healthy battery. Another indicator that it is time to change the battery is that it takes longer than usual to charge it.
How Do I Choose A Vape Battery?
When deciding on a vape battery for your mod, it is essential to pick one that best suits your vaping needs. Batteries with higher MilliAmp Hours (mAh) usually have a lower discharge rate (how much power is deliverable at once). This makes them ideal for lower-wattage devices.
On the converse, a battery with a lower mAh will give more power at once if you have a high-powered device.
Can I Change My Vape Battery?
Yes. Changing a battery on any mod device with an external battery is very easy to do and recommended when the battery shows signs of wear and tear, defects or damage. Batteries are available to purchase at any reputable vape shop and are relatively cheap.
Built-in batteries
If you use a pod system or disposable device, do not attempt to change the batteries on these, as they are not designed to be changed. Open the device, dismantle the battery and dispose of it correctly (in a recycling battery bank).
