How Do You Reset A Vape SMOK?
To reset a SMOK vape, you can remove the tank from the mod and then screw it back on, making sure that you answer the 'Is this a new coil?' question truthfully; this shall then read the coil and reset the device so that the setting is suitable for the coil that has been applied to the tank.
You can reset a SMOK vape by simply unscrewing the tank on top of the mod and then screwing it back on top; when this is done, the mode will read that a coil has been detected and will ask you if this is a new coil or the same coil resistance of your previous coil by asking 'Is This A New Coil?' and you have the options 'Y' or 'N' for Yes and No.
Depending on which coil you are using, whether it is a new coil or the same resistance coil as before, then you should answer this correctly so that the mod can read the coil properly and reset the device so that the settings are suitable for the coil that has been added to the tank.
Another reset option on SMOK products, such as the sub-ohm SMOK T Storm, is the option to be able to reset your puff counter or max puff counter. These features can count how many puffs on the device you have taken, or you can set a max puffs limit to try and help cut down. Both of these can be reset by accessing the menu (clicking the fire button 3 times) and choosing 'Puff Clear' or making your 'Max Puff' limit higher if the previous limit was insufficient.
Why Are My SMOK Vape Blinking 4 Times?
When a SMOK vape begins to blink 4 times, there is a connection issue between the battery and the coil. There could be several reasons why, the first being that the SMOK devices resistance protection will not allow it to fire and will blink as an indication; secondly, There could be something physical, such as e-liquid, that is blocking the connection between the coil and the battery, and lastly, it could be that your device is faulty.
Resistance Protection.
Resistance protection is a feature that comes with SMOK's products, and what this does is it will read the coil that is added into a SMOK tank. If the OHM of the coil is too high or too low, the device will not deliver any power to the coil to produce any vapour as a safety precaution which can help you avoid burning out coils or facing any further issues.
Connection Issues.
Connection issues are one of the main reasons for your SMOK device flashing 4 times, as this means there could be something physically stopping the battery from making a connection with the coil, like e-liquid, for example. When there is a physical blockage, the device will not be able to fire and will blink 4 times, indicating that something is stopping the device from firing.
Faulty Device.
This is the least common reason your SMOK vape may be blinking 4 times. Still, if you do notice that your SMOK vape is blinking 4 times, you have checked to make sure that you are using the correct coil and have tried to use more than one in the tank and have also checked to make sure that there is nothing physically blocking the connection between the battery and the coil, then this could potentially be down to a faulty vape. If this is the case, it is recommended to see if this can be repaired; if not, it will need replacing.
To try and avoid your SMOK vape from blinking 4 times, it is essential to make sure that you are always using coils that are compatible with the device you are using and to make sure that it is cleaned and stored correctly to avoid anything from physically blocking the connection between the battery and the coil.
Why Does My SMOK Taste Burnt?
Your SMOK vape will give off a burnt taste when the wick inside of the coil has burnt out due to not being saturated enough or the coil not being powerful enough to vaporize the e-liquid, resulting in a burnt-tasting coil which will need to be replaced.
The main reason your SMOK may begin to taste burnt is due to the coil being burnt, which can happen for several reasons. If you are vaping your device, but there is not enough juice to saturate the wick inside the coil, it will instantly burn out the coil leaving you with a burnt taste. The second reason for this burnt sensation could be down to the fact that you are using a juice that is too thick in viscosity for the device you are using, meaning that the device is not powerful enough to vaporize the vape juice, which results in clogging the coil and burning it out.
The best and most effective ways of avoiding this are to make sure that your tank is regularly topped up with liquid so that the cotton wick in the coil is constantly saturated and to make sure that you are using the correct juices for the right type of devices.
