Do Disposable Vapes Expire?

E-liquid inside disposable vapes is made primarily of two main key ingredients. Propylene Glycol and Vegetable Glycerin. These two components are responsible for smooth and safe vapour production. In general, a pure PG or VG mix will last upwards of one to two years, however, liquids might age in different conditions and flavourings, especially natural, will eventually go bad. This is not to mention the natural process of nicotine oxidising.

Disposable vapes are slightly different from general e-liquids, as they only contain up to 2ml of e-liquid. However, if you have had your disposable vape sitting around for almost a year in your cupboard, it may have expired. Check the packaging for an expiration date. If you have thrown the packaging away, then you can smell the vape. If there's no smell at all, or the smell has changed, this can mean the e-liquid in the device has expired.

Keep your disposable vape in a cool and dry place; room temperature is optimum. Direct sunlight and heat can affect the device's and battery's physical properties. Ensure the device is kept clean from any dirt or dust on the mouthpiece.

Disposable vapes in the UK can only have a maximum e-liquid capacity of 2ml, alongside a battery of around 500mAh; this results in disposable vapes generally lasting 1-3 days for the average vaper. Most vapes on the market in the UK average 500-800 puffs.
