Do Disposable Vapes Expire?

Do Disposable Vapes Expire?

Disposable vapes expire. Disposable vapes contain e-liquid and a lithium-ion battery. Disposable vapes will have an expiry date on their packaging.

E-liquid inside disposable vapes is made primarily of two main key ingredients. Propylene Glycol and Vegetable Glycerin. These two components are responsible for smooth and safe vapour production. Moreover, nicotine and flavourings impact the e-liquid in terms of how these components degrade over time.

In general, a pure PG or VG mix will last upwards of one to two years, however, liquids might age in different conditions and flavourings, especially natural, will eventually go bad. This is not to mention the natural process of nicotine oxidising.

Batteries, in general, degrade over time. If a disposable vape has been sitting around for prolonged periods, its expiration date will shorten.

Usually, it is common practice to use disposable vapes thoroughly. If you have to, try to keep the original packaging for your half-used disposable vape if you have to store it. In general, though, try to clear your half-used disposables before moving on to the others!

Disposable vapes are slightly different from general e-liquids, as they only contain up to 2ml of e-liquid. However, if you have had your disposable vape sitting around for almost a year in your cupboard, it may have expired. Check the packaging for an expiration date. If you have thrown the packaging away, then you can smell the vape. If there's no smell at all, or the smell has changed, this can mean the e-liquid in the device has expired.

Keep your disposable vape in a cool and dry place; room temperature is optimum. Direct sunlight and heat can affect the device's and battery's physical properties. Ensure the device is kept clean from any dirt or dust on the mouthpiece.

Which Vapes Last The Longest?

Disposable vapes rely on the battery and e-liquid. These two components dictate how long the disposable vape should last. Disposable vapes such as the Elf Bar 600 and the V800 by Dinner Lady last the longest.

Disposable vapes in the UK can only have a maximum e-liquid capacity of 2ml, alongside a battery of around 500mAh; this results in disposable vapes generally lasting 1-3 days for the average vaper. Most vapes on the market in the UK average 500-800 puffs.

You can find other disposable vapes on the market that can last you for over a week. Disposable vapes such as the Geek Bar pro and Elux Legend 3500 puffs contain an e-liquid capacity of over 10ml. Please be aware that these disposable devices are not TPD compliant and are illegal for sale in the UK.
