Harmful Effects Of Vaping A Disposable Vape?

Harmful Effects Of Vaping A Disposable Vape?

Inhaling anything directly into your system can have potentially harmful consequences.

The recent evidence regarding disposable vapes and vaping, in general, suggests it is significantly less harmful than smoking traditional cigarettes. Several sources reiterate this information.

These sources include the NHS which states: "They're not completely risk-free, but carry a small fraction of the risk of cigarettes."

Also, according to Cancer Research UK: "Research so far shows that e-cigarettes are far less harmful than smoking."

The British Heart Foundation conducted a 2019 study that reported,

'A study from the University of Dundee, published in November 2019 and funded by the British Heart Foundation, suggests that vaping may be less harmful to your blood vessels than smoking cigarettes. Within just one month of switching tobacco for electronic cigarettes, measures of blood vessel health, including blood pressure and stiffness of their arteries, had started to improve. The study looked at 114 people who had smoked at least 15 cigarettes a day for at least two years. This is a relatively small number of people, and the study does not prove that vaping is completely safe.'

All of this information is available directly through the above websites.

It is highly recommended that you do not take up any kind of vaping unless you are using it as an aid to quitting smoking.

Does Disposable Vapes Damage Your Lungs?

There are a lot of myths surrounding the damage disposable vapes can do to your lungs.

  • Vaping any type of device can cause 'Popcorn lung'.

This word originates from some of the flavourings used in e-liquids, creating a buttery taste. They may contain a chemical known as diacetyl which at very high levels has been associated with the severe lung disease bronchiolitis obliterans, although rare.

It is imperative to note that diacetyl is banned from being used in any e-liquids within the UK, including the liquid you will find in your disposable vape.

  • Disposable vapes aren't regulated, so we don't know what's in them.

Within the UK, we have some of the strictest regulations regarding anything vape related. Due to the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations, 2016, vape products are subject to minimum standers of safety and quality.

As well as strict labelling requirements providing consumers with correct relevant information.

  • Disposable vapes must be harmful as they contain nicotine.

According to the government website, 4 out of 10 smokers think it is nicotine causes smoking-related cancers; this is incorrect.

Evidence has proved that nicotine carries minimal risk of harm to your health. Although it is the reason people find themself addicted to smoking, it is the thousands of other chemicals inside a cigarette that can cause damage.

E-liquid vapour doesn't contain tar or carbon monoxide. These are two of the most harmful ingredients in tobacco cigarette smoke.

To conclude, you should not take up vaping as a hobby if you are not a smoker looking for an alternative.

What Are 3 Harmful Effects Of Vaping A Disposable?

When inhaling any type of chemical, you are at risk of undesired effects.

The main three effects of using a disposable vape are.

  1. Nicotine addiction

Nicotine is a highly addictive substance. We do not recommend for any non-smokers to create a new addiction by taking up any nicotine-based product. Disposable vapes can be just as addictive as tobacco cigarettes but contain far less harmful chemicals.

  2. Sore throat

You may be experiencing a sore throat from using disposable vapes; several reasons, including dry hits, can cause this. If your vape is running low, you may experience a dry hit which can cause your throat to feel irritated.

  3. Dizziness and nausea

You may experience dizziness and nausea, which can be directly linked to consuming too much nicotine. If you find yourself chain vaping, this could lead to you having too much nicotine in your blood. Also, having a nicotine strength that is too high can cause these issues. Try vaping less or lowering the amount of nicotine you are using; for example, instead of a 20mg disposable vape, try a 10mg one.
