What Is A 50/50 Nic Shot?

What Is A 50/50 Nic Shot?

A 50/50 Nic shot is a 10ml bottle of flavourless nicotine solution made up of 50% Vegetable Glycerin (VG) and 50% Propylene Glycol (PG) that is added to short-fill bottles of vape juice, which contain no nicotine at all, that then result in adding nicotine to the liquid.

50/50 Nic shots will be used to add nicotine to short-fill bottles of vape juice that come in a 0mg strength due to TPD regulations that came into power several years back. Most short-fill bottles will come in sizes of 50ml and 100ml, leaving at least 10 or 20ml free space to add nic shots.

Depending on the strength you are after and the size of the juice bottle you add nicotine too, you may need to use multiple bottles. Still, it's essential to remember that short-fill liquids will usually only leave enough space for enough nic shots to make a 6mg in strength, so if you use anything higher than this, it may be worth looking into Nic Salt shots.

You may find that there is more than one type of 50/50 nic shot available; for example, if you were a menthol cigarette smoker or you enjoy the cool, icy sensation you experience with menthol or ice flavours in vapes, then you will find that some brands of 50/50 nic shots will offer them with this icey, menthol kick and these are called Ice Nic Shots, so not only can you get plain unflavoured nicotine shots that hit satisfying nicotine, you are also able to find ice nicotine shots that deliver a satisfying nicotine hit and a cool, icy sensation when inhaling.

What Is 18mg Nic Shot?

An 18mg nic shot is an unflavoured, 10ml bottle of nicotine solution containing 18mg of nicotine that is intended to be added to a short-fill bottle of vape juice that contains no nicotine to result in a liquid that contains a desirable nicotine strength and is made up of mainly Vegetable Glycerin (VG).

These 18mg nicotine shots are added to 0mg juice to make the desired nicotine strength; for example, if you have a 50ml bottle of 0mg vape juice and added 1x 18mg nic shot, this would result in a 60ml bottle of 3mg juice. If you were to add 2x nic shots, you would achieve a 70ml bottle of 6mg vape juice, and the math is the same for bigger bottles; for example, if you add 1x 18mg nic shot to 100ml of 0mg vape juice, this will achieve a 110ml bottle of liquid in a 1.5mg strength, and if you were to add 2x 18mg nic shots, you would result in a 120ml bottle of 3mg vape juice.

You may find Nic Salt shots in strengths of 10mg and 20mg, but a vast majority of normal nic shots come in the strength of 18mg, which seems to be standard.
