What Vape Juice Lasts The Longest?

Vape juice does expire; post-manufacturing, it has a shelf life of approximately 1-2 years but can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.

The long shelf life is owed to the chemical composition of the ingredients within liquids; they are very stable and not easily broken down; that being said - some things can affect the shelf life of e-liquid, for example, incorrect storage, opening a bottle and leaving it and exposure to sunlight.

Though there is no legal obligation for e-liquid manufacturers to test for and display an expiry date for their e-liquid, most producers have a date on there. These are probably the expiry dates of the ingredients used to manufacture the e-liquid.

Owing to PG and VG's chemical properties, these relatively stable chemical compounds can last up to 24 months after manufacture when stored correctly.

To store these correctly and ensure you gain the longest possible life span, keep them out of direct sunlight or other UV light sources, maintain them at constant temperature (ideally at room temperature) and avoid opening the bottle until you come to use the product. Once opened, it is best to use the product within one month.

Why Is My Vape Juice Running Out So Fast?

There are several reasons your vape juice may be running out fast, one example is your device or tank could be damaged, or you have overfilled your tank. If you have dropped your vape device, it is essential to check that your glass tank has no significant or hairline fractures.

Here are the top 5 reasons you may be running out of juice;

1. There may be an issue with your tank causing the juice to leak; checking your tank for any cracks or any damage will help you avoid this.
2. You may be chain-vaping causing you to use more juice than needed. If you find yourself doing this, try upping your nicotine strength, as you may not be getting the adequate hit required.
3. Using high wattage devices which vaporise more liquid than a lower wattage device can cause you to use more juice with each puff.
4. You are using the wrong coil resistance needed for your device, such as a low resistance coil with a low wattage device.
5. Using a freebase compared to a nic salt e-liquid. Nic salts can let nicotine be absorbed faster into your bloodstream than freebase, meaning you may not reach for your device as much due to already experiencing the hit in fewer puffs.

What To Add To Vape Juice To Make It Last Longer?

Add either PG or VG to your vape juice to make it last longer, though it is not recommended to do this as it will dilute the flavour of the vape juice.

If you are considering this method to make your vape juice last longer, we would recommend carefully considering the quantity of PG or VG in the E-liquid. For example, if you wish to add some PG or VG to a 10ml bottle, we would not recommend adding anything greater than 1ml to that volume of e-liquid as you will alter the flavour that the manufacturers have designed that vape juice to taste like.

If, however you wish to dilute a greater volume of e-liquid, let's say a shortfall where you have 100ml of e-liquid, then we would not recommend adding more than 10ml of e-liquid. This ratio will ensure that the flavour dilution is not more than 10%. Remember, if you are adding nicotine into the mix, then you are already diluting the 100ml of e-liquid by the amount of pure VG or PG you are adding.

Some other vape guides or gurus have suggested adding a drop or two of de-ionised or distilled water. Although this is perfectly safe to do so, we would advise against this as de-ionised or distilled water was never an original ingredient in vape juice.

Alternatively, if your e-liquid is not lasting long because you are excessively vaping, it most likely means that you are not vaping the correct nicotine concentration to satisfy your nicotine craving; ergo, you are having to vape more to compensate. Should this be the case, try vaping with a higher nicotine concentration to satisfy that craving.
